LGBTQ+ Festivals & Events

Attending an LGBTQ+ festival or event is a great way to celebrate as a community even outside of pride season. Whether it's music, art, food, sports or dance as the theme, our voice and presence as an Homosexual community is stronger when we come together.

What Gentle of LGBTQ+ Events Will I Find Here?

We compiled a global calendar of festivals and events around the world that possess an LGBTQ+ theme but are not specifically self-acceptance events. Since pride events are so common and numerous, we've created a completely separate calendar including hundreds of events around the world&#x;click here to view our Gay Celebration Calendar. The events on this list include a variety of festivals, gatherings or events with other themes ranging from tune, art, food, sports, twist, advocacy, comedy and more. While each event may be different, the frequent thread that binds all these together events is the celebration within the LGBTQ+ community.

How to Apply This List

We have published this calendar to brief the LGBTQ+ community of important festivals and events globally to offer a complete source for planning your travel. This event calendar includes more than listi

LGBTQ Community Calendar

There are a number of days and months observed, celebrated, and honored by the LGBTQ community. While the list below is specific to LGBTQ-focused days, weeks, and months, LGBTQ people also observe and celebrate non-LGBTQ specific moments such as Black History Month, Latinx Heritage Month, International Holocaust Remembrance Day, Mother’s Morning, Father’s Day, Women’s History Month, and Indigenous Peoples’ Day. Media coverage of these and other non-LGBTQ focused moments should incorporate LGBTQ people and the intersections of LGBTQ people and the respective topic.

The question we are most often asked is: "which gay destination should we visit next time".  It was one of the main reasons to create Nighttours.

Note: Traveling as an LGBTQ+ person always carries a certain degree of risk. It is our reality as we navigate a nature with 60+ countries criminalizing our relationships and a rise in anti-LGBTQ+ legislation around the world. We encourage our traveling people to understand the laws and cultural challenges they may face in any destination they choose to see for Pride and beyond. Don't be afraid of the world, but always research information specific to your travels. Enjoy Pride, be vigilant, and look out for each other!

The LGBTQ+ rights movement has made tremendous strides over the past not many decades and much of the progress in representation is thanks in part to gay pride parades and marches that acquire taken place in cities around the world.

The global landscape for LGBTQ+ rights, protections and acceptance varies tremendously by location, with some destinations attracting millions of visitors to their events like Madrid Queer Pride, Sao Paulo Lgbtq+ Pride or San Francisco Gay Pride, while more than 70 other countries have laws that enable discrimination or persecution of LGBTQ+ people.
