CW’s Riverdale is a dark, sultry teen-thriller interpretation of the Archie comics. The exhibit mixes the idealistic setting of the comic, which began issue in 1942, with weird, neon sex appeal. The show carried onto screen Kevin Keller, the first openly lgbtq+ character in the comic. It was a breakthrough in the comic and it was a breakthrough on screen—in pre-premiere interviews, the cast prized the character Kevin as “more than” a gay optimal friend, sassy sidekick or comic relief. He would have a storyline, nuance and depth. Great.

Casey Cott has starred in Riverdale as Kevin Keller since it first started airing on The CW and Netflix in 2017. Kevin was Archie Comic's first gay character who was brought to life in the teen drama by the 28-year-old actor. But unlike Kevin who hasn't always had the leading of luck when it comes to luck, Cott has had a much easier journey in authentic life.
From the very first stage, Kevin Keller (played by Casey Cott) has initiate himself in various relationships.
He initially had continuous flings with strangers but in series three, settled down with Moose Mason (Cody Kearsley) who hadn't arrive out to his father.
When he did, his dad initially seemed to acknowledge this but came up with a plot to try and scare Moose straight.

Kevin Keller (played by Casey Cott) is openly gay in current times but is forced to hide his sexuality and his relationship with Clay Walker (Karl Walcott) in season seven.
In the latest episode, Archie the Musical, the pair wrote a beautiful song for them as well as fellow secret couple Cheryl Blossom (Madelaine Petsch) and Toni Topaz (Vanessa Morgan) about keeping their devotion behind closed doors.
While the song brought The CW and Netflix fans to tears, it wasn’t to be included in the musical as it was illegal to be part of the LGBTQ+ community.
