When the 41-year-old outspoken Christian was asked about his thoughts on gays tying the knot, Cameron said, "Marriage is almost as aged as dirt, and it was defined in the Garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one woman for life till death do you part. So I would never attempt to try to redefine marriage. And I don't think anyone else should either."

"So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don't."

And when asked if he thought homosexuality was a sin, Cameron went on to say, "I think that it's unnatural. I think that it's detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

But, that wasn't all.

Kirk Cameron Receiving Support Despite Anti-Gay Comments

March 5, 2012 — -- While homosexual rights activists are eviscerating Kirk Cameron for calling homosexuality "unnatural," "detrimental," and "ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization," the former "Growing Pains" star has received "thousands of emails and comments" of help, Cameron's representative told ABCNews.com today.

On marriage equality, the outspoken evangelical Christian said, "Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. A group of former child stars banded together in a video to lambast comments Kirk Cameron made in March calling homosexuality "unnatural," "detrimental," and "ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization."

The video, which was posted on Entertaining Or Die, featured seven child actors who had formed a group called Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron or CCOKC for short.

"Together we're pledging to raise awareness about a serious threat to our civil rights-Kirk Cameron's stupid opinions," they speak in the video.

The spoof public service announcement featured seven former minor stars,  including Christine Lakin from "Step By Step," Kenn Michael from "The Parent 'Hood" and Josie Davis from "Charles In Charge."

"Look, we've met Kirk and he's a very pleasant guy," they say. "But Kirk, enjoy all of us, lived and worked in the company of homosexuals for years and I would challenge him to specify one thing they ever did to hurt him, his community, or civilization as a whole."

LOUISVILLE, Ky. (BP) — Are you paying attention to the response to Kirk Cameron’s recent remarks about gay marriage on Piers Morgan’s television program? Cameron did not come on the program to converse about homosexuality, and he even looked like he was trying to transform the subject. But Morgan pressed him, and so Cameron answered.

When Morgan asked him about gay marriage, Cameron said, “Marriage is almost as old as dirt, and it was defined in the garden between Adam and Eve. One man, one female for life till death do you part. So I would never try to try to redefine marriage. And I don’t think anyone else should either. So do I support the idea of gay marriage? No, I don’t.”

Then Morgan asked him his views on homosexuality, and Cameron responded, “I think that it’s — it’s – it’s unnatural. I think that it’s — it’s detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”

What has been instructive to observe has not been Cameron’s remarks, but the response. Cameron is a Christian, and he merely summarized the 2,000-year-old teaching of the chu
